Since ive owned my car the power steering has been a bit loud when turning all the way to right or left. Recently turning the wheel all the way in either direction will cause knocking and sqeaking. The belts were changed last year so I don't think thats the problem.
Any idea ?
Thanks in advance

The only time I notice it is when I am parked. If I turn the wheel as far as it can go it will start knocking. It wont make any noise if I don't move the wheel.

that why i asked,
the pulley could be loose or bent. the pump itself could be loose. i think ive heard this before i just can't think of it.

I looked under the car to look for any signs of it being loose but everything seems to be secure. I guees i'll put it on stands and have someone turn the wheel back and forth to check a little better.

Knocking? 8O Explain the sound in detail... Ticks, knocks? Loud? Quiet? That can't be good... Let's hope it's not the rack.
