Ok so here's the story so far...
Back in Jan I was getting my haircut by some chick at supercuts, she had done the same autoprogram i did, we get to talking, good times. Jump forward about two weeks, i tell im looking for a MKII Golf, she says she's got an 83 Rabbit, then she say those three magic letters G.T.I. bought pissed my pants. She said it runs but doesn't drive, i was like how much ya lookin' to get outta it, she says "at least $200", now i'm sh**ing bricks, "what?, really, ok give me two weeks". i picked it up almost zero rust awesome paint and clear coat, cool alloys, and ok interior. When I got it to my school's shop, man the hisses you could hear, all the rednecks in the late 70's emission muscle(not fast) cars. So when i get work all it needed was axles and a rear trans mount, thank you TT. Now about the end of april more stuff found, an adjustable cam gear from the 80's, a K&N, and a blown head gasket, good times. Now the heads off I'm waiting to save up $$$ to take it to the machine shop for a pressure test and get milled. i've also added a TT short shifter, new rotors, pads, oil, plugs, wires, and oil filter.

$200 8O 8O That's a steal.

The car looks awesome. Are you putting in a new interior /backseat or are you going for the light-weight style? What's that thing hanging down in the fourth picture?

What are the plans for it?

Have you looked into the missing linkz short shifter/rebuild kit? I have it on my rabbit and am very impressed.

Plans:
Light weight stlye auto-x car/daily cruiser. For the 8v milled 1mm, P&P, G-cam, new stiffer valve springs, header, hi-flow cat, 2.25 Flowmaster exhaust via TT, springs and shocks.

When that blows up, i'm going for the 2.0L 16v swap with Turbo.

and that hanging thing is a tennis ball hooked to the ceiling it was for my big ass isuzu.

and for the tt shifter i got the deluxe kit with bushings and linkage very good kit, props to TT.

Sounds like a very ambitious project. I like it :D

Not the tennis ball, it's right beneath the driver door up at the front.

If you ever decide to sell that let me know. I have been contemplating a 16V or 1.8T conversion in one of those. Nice car. 8)

They are probably all members of "Wifebeaters Anonymous."
