I havn't kept records, but this is a pretty good estimate...
2001 Jetta Wolfsburg (1.8T)
Mods: none
Pure city driving: usually range between 24-27MPG, depends on if I have to make a lot of quick starts and if I get stuck in traffic jams or not.
Pure highway driving: range between 29-32 MPG, mostly depends on what roads I'm driving on, speed limit, etc. Usually driving 80-85 on the interstate (speed limit out here is 75), usually about 75 otherwise (on 65MPH roads).
Type of fuel: Premium (91+ octane)
There was one amazing anomoly in this... June of last year I took an impromptu road trip through the back country of Colorado (Durango to Denver). I filled up in Durango, grabbed a map, and looked for some roads. Saw Wolf Creek Pass, which I couldn't pass up (pardon the pun). Roads were all dry and clear, and I was enjoying the ride and the view. (Side note: If you have a chance to take a turbocharged car on some nice tight twisting mountain roads, I would HIGHLY reccomend it :D ) Anyways, after driving Durango to Denver and spending a couple of days in Denver, I was heading back home. As I was leaving Denver, I looked at my trip meter (I reset every time I fill up), and my fuel guage. I had gone 420ish miles, and my fuel guage said I had about a third of a tank left. Knowing that usually my idiot light is on now, I figure the fuel guage is messed up and I pull over and fill up... only get 11.5ish gallons (going on memory here) in. Long story short, I got something like 38 MPG on the trip. Don't know if it was the lower speeds, altitude, or what, but I was plesantly suprised :D

I usually get around 28 mpg mostly city driving. I also only fill up with regular fuel, since it's just a 2.0 Regular fuel around here is 87 octane I believe.

been getting about 32mpg with a 97 2liter 87 octane 80% hiway drving. I expect when we dont have the winter fuel here in MA that it will bump an mpg or 2 the best I ever got was 36mpg the worst was 29 mpg (extended cold period)

It's not too hard really.
whoops, typo to fix
Having a manual transmission helps, since you have better control of shift points and less power loss than a slushbox.
1.8 is a small engine really, so as long as you're driving in a manner that the turbo isn't kicking in all the time it's a pretty fuel efficient engine.
Living in a city like Phoenix helps too, lots of freeways and roads where there's not a stop light every intersection.
Since I rarely have the engine floored and am not a very aggresive driver (unless i really need to accelerate fast I'm usually shifting ~2500-3000 RPM), I can usually squeak out the same gas milage, if not slightly better than the EPA estimates for the 2.slo engine. Low end torque on the 1.8T's rock!

I get about 26 mpg, that is with pure city driving, I almost never use the freeway. Does that seem low? when I fill up from empty, I get about 11.5 gallons in the tank and I usually get about 280 mpt.

I just bought a rabbit diesel. I am expecting at least 40MPG. I have to swap the 4 speed out though, it needs a 5spd.

Don't ask me how many MPG I get, probably 17? On the Wasserkuhler cruises maybe 15, when my grandmother is in the car with me, probably 23. I can run about 275 miles on 15 gallons of gas.

The Benz get's about 23mpg average (3.2L I-6)... Currently the coupe doesnt use any fuel at all, but I suspect about 40-45mpg.
