Wuzzup Kuhlers?
Your faithful Vice Pres here. I called Phantom motorsport and we can get a group discount. If we have 10 or more people pay for a dyno run, we get 2 runs for 40 bucks (torque and hp). If you want them to minitor your air/fuel ratio, it's an additional 15 dollars. Additional runs after that are 15 bucks. 10 cars or less the dyno runs are 55 dollars. So we better have atleast 10 people show up, or it really wont be worth it to the club to go, cause we wont get a group discount. UNFORTUNATLY, they do not have means of testing AWD cars, so I apologize to those who may have AWD.

Dyno day is going to be Saturday February 26th, 2005. More information will come as to where we are meeting. The Dyno is in Murray, so we will probably meet at TDC again, and cruise on down there.

Due to the fact that this is Dyno day, and we will be relying on many showing up, I'm asking all those who are interested please drop me an email or give me a call (801 404 0966 or cody@sfcn.org). If you tell me you are coming and don't show up, there'll be an ass whoppin'

Due to the fact that I am toally busy (more like lazy) I will try to get this up on the website over the next week. Check back on this post, or the website, for oncoming details as to what time we'll be meeting, and such.

Peace out Kuhlers.

Edit: We must be AT Phantom at 10:00a.m. We will be meeting at TDC at 9:00a.m. on February 26. Those of you who can't be there early are welcome to leave their money with me, and I'll pay for them and get them into the queue. If you don't show up after that, tough cookies, you waive the entry fee.

Again, all questions go through me. Peace.

Woot that is gonna be fun. Think I should get the GLI chipped before then, or just see how it fares in stock form?

Hmm. Maybe ill do it, but who'd want to see a clapped out Vanagon on the dyno? No, really, who wants to see it?

Change of Plans

We are still having dyno day on February 26th, however we will be meeting at TDC and dynoing at Modern Garage (due to popular demand). WE WILL BE MEETING AT TDC AT 10:00A.M and leaving promptly at 10:45a.m. We will caravan over to Modern Garage which is about 3 blocks away from TDC.

TDC's Address:

4333 Commerce Dr (300W)
Salt Lake City, UT 84107-2629 Phone: (801) 269-9205

Click Here for a Map (http://mapsonus.switchboard.com/bin/maps-maponly/usr=~41ef0f9f.69513.1a03.9/c=1/refsrc=SB.newsb/isredir=1/)

The Group Rate Price are as Follows:

2WD (front or rear) 50 dollars. They do as many runs as it takes to heat up the engine and not go past a safe heat level, Which usually ends up being about 5 runs he said.

AWD for the R32, 4motion and Audi guys will be 90 dollars for 5ish dyno runs... Again, they run your car until it starts to flatten out.

Air/Fuel Ratio readings add an additional $25 on top of the dyno cost. That is for OBD II cars only.

You get the print off from your best dyno run. They can overlay the results graph from more than 1 run onto a paper if you ask them to. Those of you with Diesel Power MUST have a tachometer, cause there is no other way for them to read your rpm.

This is a VOLKSWAGEN DYNO DAY. Other cars are welcome. I have a few kids that I know are bringing a Focus, and a Maxima, and whatever else you want to bring (no hondas). Just be warned, there will be NO rivalry between the owners. It's a VW dyno day, and the VW drivers arent going to Modern to get any smack talk or lip for their car. Fair warning, people who cause problems will be asked to leave. Any fights or violence of any kind will be deal with by the Salt Lake City Police Department.

More Importantly, we just want to have fun, and do it safely. Any questions please feel free to direct to me. cody@sfcn.org

Peace out Kuhlers.

Original prices were better! why the change in location? Make them match the price! "We could get it done for $X over there, cut us some slack!"

$40 for 2 runs vs. $50 for 5 or more runs. This new place sound like a better deal to me.

2 runs should give you the same amount of data as 5. It would be usefull however for optimizing carb adjustment or standalone management parameters.

You should still tell them that the other place will let you have a run for $40, see what happens.

Yeah, yesterday i driving back from orem on the freeway, and jsut as i got off the fwy, i felt a hesitation, so i turn off the radio. I hear a horrible racket, like noisy lifters but mulitples worse, akin to sucked valve or summat. Luckily i was close to work, so a highway helper comes and pushes me in. I get 2002maniac and his dad to give me a tow late last night (thanks guys!!) back up to my house.

I have yet to open it up, but i think its just going to get replaced with a gowesty.com motor. It will involve eating ramen and not buying anything for a while, but i get a 25 hp boost :D What did i expect from a 160.000 mile wasserboxer?
