I'm not too sure about the styling, it looks just like the GTI V in front :? . I would DEFINITELY take the 2.oT in it though  .

Uhmmm golf/gti and jettas have ALWAYS looked the same.

The motor they picture in that is the 2.0L Turbo. FSI. I'll bet the later years gli will probably get the 3.2L VR.... its inevitable! That car is so nice... It's going to be a lot better, and the back seat is going to have a lot more usable room.

Ohh and atleast the base engine will have the edge over most imports now. 2.5L 140hp... Not to shabidelic.

My honda is 9 years old and my jetta is 4 years; however, the honda has served me well. It has had no problems compared to my jetta.

Maybe this year or next year, im planning to get an acura rsx type s.....

I was planning to upgrade to a bigger, more powerful car, maybe a Seat or something... but for some reason I still pretty happy with my jetta whatever you may think with slush matics and 2.0...

All friends here bought rice because in Mexico hondas or toyotas are uncommon... honestly I don't like them, even when they're good cars.

The new GLI is just sick... I think I will better wait and see them on the streets and possibly get one, what do you think will be the real price for one of those when new???? somebody told me they will be around 28K USD...

I think the new Jetta looks like a camry and the new GTi looks like a new civic! They are ugly! For me, vw died in 1992...

Well... You also have to consider the facts. VW is not the only car manufacturer that has changed dramaticly since the early 90's. Compare the ford taurus... They have changed for the worst. BMW even... BMW, in my opinion has changed for the worse since the early 90's. There are also factors like, more efficient and cleaner running vehicle requirements. A 92 VW is a lot dirtier than the new Volkswagens. VW has kind of lost sight of their cheap and well built drivetrain mentality. VW started in 55' because they wanted to provide a car that was really cheap, got great gas mileage, and was fun to drive. Now they are trying to move up in class

And now I am out of time at work, so I'll finish my rant later.

That's why I think most people liked VW. They weren't like the rest of the car companies. I understand them wanting to move up a class and all that, but I think they should just create a new car company and rather then move up with it, start at the level they want to be at and leave the VW a cheap, well built, great gas mileage car that is fun to drive.

They did...In 1965 VW purchased the Auto Union Audi. The 4 rings which symbolizes the union of 4 german automakers. Audi has always been the more classy car, but recently, it look like vw is trying to move up along with audi. In europe, they are still the cheap reliable car we know. Look at the lupo for crying out loud. A 3 cylinder 1.2L TDI that gets 2.9L per 100km (80mpg), and still manages to crank out 45kw (60hp). I dunno... I like the New Jettas, but in no way shape or form can they be compared to the old VW's

I knew/know about Audi, but I think VW should keep it's market base wider instead of narrowing it to the upper more class. Poor people like me can't afford the new cars :( Not that I want one, not even the Lupo (although the torque is nice) There is just way way to much that could go wriong with it, and I doubt my skills as a mechanic (LOL) would be able to repair anything that broke on it.

Well... get used to it, cause all cars are like that nowadays. It's only going to get worse too. Imagine what kinda **** is going to be in cars with fuel cells?
