View Full Version : 250$ for a 1.8L 16V block?

I was browsing the tex and this guy offered to SHIP me a complete lower end for a 16V... pistsons, crank, water pump, ps pump, a complete lower end shipped to my house for 250.... wadaya think? should I buy this and use it, or use the parts in it to convert my 2.0L aba? or what?
comments or questions welcome.

I think you should go with the 2.0 16v

you should scrap the whole idea and put a turbo diesel in there :D

I'm done with the diesel idea until I satisfy my need for speed. I dunno... The 1.8L 's stock redline is a lot higher than the 2.0... I kinda liked the power from the 1.8.... COURRRRRRRRRRRSSSEE.... I could shorten the stroke a bit more and run some extreme boost, then I would have the insane redline AND the extra power of a 2.0L.... I think I am going to stick to my ABA 2.0L idea.

I guess it really comes down to if you want to used forced induction or not.

The engines i'm buying from tyler are TD's... "T" being the first letter in the word... "Turbo" :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

I was refering to the aba or 1.8 block you were thinking about doing. Turbo diesels? What the heck are those? :lol:

Ok, I'll get on that.... I just have to figure out how to get the tranny and engine apart without busting the tranny
after you unbolt the bolts, the tranny slides right off... very easilly.
