C'mon, we need to represent! How do people feel about the non-Wolfsburg made Wolfsburg editions?

yeah i was wondering why all of us A4ers were being gun shy?

my whole take on the WE is that maybe they should now call them something else if they aren't built in Germany. i personally don't think that they are made better in Germany or Mexico since they are both German-engineered and presumably follow the same guidelines. there may be cheaper labor in Mexico, but the folks that build the cars still work their butts off and follow the same guidelines as the German folks. that's what makes sense to me anyway.

so maybe call it a name with a spanish flare to it if it is built in Mexico. or just give them all a new name other than just the Special Edition or Limited Edition like a lot of other boring car companies do...

Ok my contribution:

Mexican Wolfsburg edition should be better named:
1.- Jetta Mole Poblano Edition
2.- Jetta Tequila
3.- Jetta Popocatépetl
4.- Jetta Edición Chingón
5.- Jetta Tehuacán Edition

All those names come from the current Jetta origin: Puebla, México.

We only need to let our corporate chief officers at VW AG know about them, they´ll take the final decision :wink:

LOL, good name, but knowing American's propensity to put the blame on somebody else, I could easily see somebody drinking a bottle of Jose Cuervo, getting behind the wheel, crash, burn, then turn around and sue VWAG for naming a vehicle after liquer. (What? Tequila is a region of Mexico? Nah, couldn't be!)

Could be a worse name though, like when Chevy tried to sell the Nova in Mexico :lol:

Why waste the money on the WE? I never understood that over the standard GLS. For the upgrade price, you could easily get a better stereo and 16" rims anyway. What am I missing?
