Well, you really can't be gone with it, but there are some things you can do to preserve the life of your intake components, and turbo... My friend has been doing this for years, and stands by it in every way... He has a Mercedes 5 cylinder turbo diesel...

If you'll notice on every VW there is a hose going from the top of the valve cover into the intake... On the turbo diesels, it goes directly into the intake pipe... This means this greasy oil **** is going right into the intake turbine on the turbo, coating the inside... Not to mention the pipes and intake manifold! If you have an intercooler, it will clog it up with dirty oily residue... All I did was go to K-Mart, and buy some tubing, and run it right down the side of the motor, and wham ****k... No more blow by going into my engine.... This is bad for the atmosphere, but hey... What the hell... It'll save the life of intake components. Pretty slick, if you ask me.... This is the perfect mod for a TDI or Diesel... Never tried it on a Gasser, but probably works the same way...

Note: Remember to seal off the hose that runs to the intake! Also remember to keep the stock equipment in tact, so you can hook it back up for emmitions and inspection!

I was just looking at a couple, brand new, 2004 Cat and Mercedes diesels, that Fraightliner is using, and they are vented in to the atmosphere. It was kind of a suprise that they don't have stricter emissions.
