I'm sure you can... You just have to find a supercharger that has the ability to change the gear ratio... Cause diesels are low rpm, so, you might not get that much PSI from the charger... That's why a turbo is a much more viable alternative to forced induction.... But yes, I am sure it's possible!

I've decided that this going to be something I want to try in a diesel... Just to see how it works.... You figure I could have somebody fabricate a pulley small enough to turn the supercharger 1 to 10 gear ratio? That means I could probably push atleast 20psi clear up to 4,800rpm.

I'd much rather have a Turbocharger on a diesel. Adds to that much needed high end it lacks...twin charging on the other hand would be really interesting

I think a supercharger would be very very interesting.... Just to see the powerband.

I wouldn't completely dismiss it of course, it would be great if it was specifically made for the 1/4 mile. The burnouts would be outstanding!

You could find a very small pulley, to put on the supercharger, and get some serious PSI at 1,000 rpm!!!

How about a Vortech Supercharger? Or is that wound to high for a diesel?

No clue.... What the hell is a vortech supercharger? By the way, loose the code in the sig, or I'll disable HTML all together.

I lost the sig, i was just asking, thats why i wanted you to look at the post. On the topic of a vortech supercharger, its a supercharger popular with the honda boys. It's similar to a turbo in its setup only it has a pulley coming off the crackshaft instead of an exhaust intake to spin the compressor.

you could always run this charger :)
its custom made for VW's specificly the 1.8 i bet with some custom fab it would fit like a charm on a TD.
(im not hosting it otherwise i would resize for you :-/)

Oh **** that's sweet!
You'd have to compensate with oil coolers or something because of the lack of intercooler. That's whats cool about the vortech, but, this is prolly way cheaper, easier to install, and it probably wont take much modification to make it work. I could always make a new pulley in the machine shop at school :P
