--- Ok, thought I would post up one of my hobbies here, which is building and collecting models. I thought that some of you might be interested in this type of thing. The photos shown below are a few of the models that I have right now that are not in storage. I started collecting cars when I was 12, and have built up a collection that probably has 250-300 models now. With space being a much needed commodity now days, the majority of the models are stored safely away.
Here are some shots of a few models from my German car collection:
1:24 VW New Beetle, red. Franklin Mint
1:43 VW Corrado SLC VR6, deep purple. Schabak
1:43 Porsche 911 Turbo, blue. Minichamps
1:43 VW Mk3 Jetta 2.0, red. Schabak
1:43 VW Mk4 Jetta, silver. Minichamps
1:87 VW New Beetle, silver. Wiking

This one below is a 1:24 Welly model of the Mk4 Jetta, which I got in the mail three days ago. The first thing I did was tear it apart, replaced the stock wheels with BBS, lowered it about 1/4 of an inch, and tinted the rear windows with translucent tint spray paint. The first shot is what the model looked like stock, without mods, and of course it is silver, not black:

Now for the modded shots:

Also I am in the process of assembling a 1:24 scale Revell model, which will be highly modified with BBS RS wheels, 40 series tires, and last but not least a VR6 transplant. This one has to be perfect, as the Revell model kits are hard to come by for this particular car. So a good majority of the winter will be spent on perfecting it.
