Pics are dead for me.
EDIT: Went to the images via the URLs and saw the car. Looks nice on the interior, just needs the engine cleaned up a bit and some body work.
Tornado red is a popular colour so you should paint the bottom part of your hood where the rust is.
Also, I think rims like 92vr6jetta's old ones would look awesome on your car... maybe it's just because I'm a fan of his car but it'd be a nice improvment :P

--- First thing I think you should do is trade me those seats. I'll pay the shipping! Just messing around, unless you really want to trade.
--- If that were mine I would probably throw some sport springs on it, the teardrop wheels already look good. You have a 16 valve powerplant, so subtle mods to that here and there are fine. If there isn't too much body damage and rust, I would get it buffed, that is what I did to mine to bring out the original paint more. I like tint, but that is usually just me.

I have put tint on the windows, if you look at the engine page you will see something else about it, i need to struts and shocks, but dont know what a good price range would be. I also would like some info on where to look for new rubber for the doors. The car needs a lot of work to make it look as good as most of the others i have seen on here.

Check this link out for suspension. I did the Neuspeed Sofsport progressive springs on my car, they claim it lowers it .5 of an inch, it actually is about 1 inch. Plus with the added weight of the VR and the system in the trunk it is probably another .75 to 1" down.

You need big bumpers... that completes the MkII look... Very nice car. The 16V GLI is the perfect starter car, those things can be mean!

Here is a picture of the car with the old wheels. I don't know how much I want to part with them, however I might give you the wheels and my seats in exchange for your seats. Just got to make up my mind. That is if you want to part with them. What state/province do you live in, anyhow?

Nice car man. :D
If that were my car, I would get some dye for the bumpers and side moldings, and get those black again. I would also probably buy a new used hood with no rust. It's a popular color so it shouldn't be too hard to find one. Getting a new grill, without the GLI on it, makes for a much cleaner look. You could always buy mine off me for $5. Another nice visual mod is getting different tail lights.
Those rims look good, I would keep them.
If you gradually build up your engine, you would have one mean car. It's already really good for speed, but it has alot more potential.
Great car man, I wish I had bought something that nice instead of my beater Jetta POS.

ok, heres an update, as you all probably know, i lost my timing belt last sunday WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH, havnt had my car in about a week, but on sunday i get to pick up my next motor, a rebuilt 2.0 9A 16v with a p&p head, and a motronic fuel injection swap, with only 70,000 miles on it i will leave the old pics on this topic and will post new pics of my other motor in a new topic when i do the motor swap. you said i should get a new grill without the GLI 16v emblem on it, so i just popped off the plastic piece, it was just clipped on. i also dont know what you all like soo much about those rims, i am getting sick of them. oh well, talk to you in a few days when i get my other motor put in and give an update
oh yeah, i got a new hood and bra for it also.

A motor doesnt come with a "motronic swap" the motronic swap is done to the chassis of the car. Your car is equipped with CISe. A system which totally has to be switched over to electronic management. The ECU, the ENTIRE ware harness, all the sensors, and everything... You'll looking at about 1 months work if you work on it every day.
If I were you I would take the motronic fuel rail off and use your CIS system until you have a reason too. If you are not running boost you have NO reason not to use CIS. A motronic conversion is SERIOUS work. Meaning you probably outta line up another car to drive for a few months. You have to have extensive knowledge of how VW's work. You have to remove the dash to get to the wiring on the fuse block. It's a PITA!!!! Trust me I am doing the same thing to my coupe. Plus, the only good motronic swap is the corrado digifant I system... the normal digifant I (the one in my coupe) is mapped for economy, and is pretty much just as good if not worse than the CIS system.

All 1.8 16v's are CIS-E
All 2.0 16v's are CIS-E Motronic
I bet that is the motronic swap he is talking about. It would actually be a direct plug-n-play swap if his car were 89+ in late 89 vw started using the CE-2 fusebox in almost all thier cars. This makes almost any swap easy as pie. VR-6, ABA, digi-1, etc. The CIS-E motronic is only slightly different from CIS-E mainly, it has 2 knock sensors, and a single ECU as opposed to the seperate fuel and spark control boxes on CIS-E cars. The motronic swap really isnt all that much better than CIS-E. Alot of the 16v guys nowadays are converting to Digi-2 and having great sucess. Digi-1 parts are getting scarce but Digi-2 cars are all over. Digifant isnt motronic at all. I think it is more a derivitave of the Bosch L-jet and Lh-jet systems

The swap commonly talked about with 16V engines is digifant, which is commonly called motronic by people who don't know what EXACTLY motronic is (included stupid idiot me). If you are going to go through all the trouble of converting engine management even though digifant is a lot harder to do, you might as well go for digifant I in the corrado. Which there is always stuff on the tex from a corrado... digi I g-60 is mapped for boost, so you don't have to go through the experimental stages of having to get chip custom programmed for digi I non-G60. Digifant I non G60 is still around, and easy to find. All you really have to do is search the tex, cause california is filty with them.
So anyway, I guess if you don't plan on doing a turbo, ever, then you could just do motro cis... Which is still chipable, but the injectors and fpr really is only tunable to a point. Everybody wants a turbo... don't deny it. And if you don't implement the means when it's the easiest you'll be kicking yourslef in the butt later on.
