Although the 5 cylinder idea seems interesting..

It's alright. I think it will grow on me, since a lot of new car designs do. For example, I didn't really like the new 7-series and 5-series BMW's at first, but now I think they look sweet. Cody said the Jetta V GLX will have the 3.2L 240hp 6-cyl, that would be awesome.

Yuck, looks like a stretched Echo  (Embarrassed to have a car associated with that)

Lower the rear end and get a better front bumper and I think it would be a great looking car.

It's still a fat sedan...

Hate to say it, but front on the new MKV's looks almost Honda Civic Si(ish). Thankfully it looks a little better than that.

I don't know, it's already starting to grow on me. I'll definitely be looking forward to checking them out in the dealer. I mean, a five cylinder 2.5L? I wanna try that out! 5-cyl cars are rare.

DAVE!! It's photoshop time!!!!

Okay, here it goes. The first crappy p-shop image of the Jetta MKV. I did this around midnight in like 10 minutes, so it looks really bad. Dave, you could probably whip out a pro-quality one in no time, but I thought I'd give it a go. Dave, you should change the color, too! Make it black or red or something.

If I got one, this is the first thing I would do (after crushing a few cars w/ the 3.2 L VR6!). I really hope they put that engine in there.

They won't be rare for long now that it's the standard engine, heh

Does anyone know if it is a VR5 or an inline? They have had the VR5 in Europe for a few years already.

It seems most of the VW enthusiasts are giving the Jetta V a big thumbs down.

They arent that rare...They've been the main engine in volvo's lineup since 1993, and in the disasterous, but good looking 1st gen Acura 2.5TL...

But the more I see it, the more its growing on me. Ill wait for the GLI before I make my final decision of whether I would consider getting one. But 3.2L VeeAreSex!!!! :P

C'mon guys.... Do you honestly think that's what the GLI is going to look like? Do you really think Volkswagen would take the legacy the that A3's and A4's have build (style and performance) and throw it down the drain with a POS ugly ass economy looking car like that one?

Come on... Which one of these looks better?

The Economy Base Model MkIV Jetta:

Or the Jetta GLI:
