i always knew the MFA did this, had never seen anyone do it tho... its kinda like the test mode one can access in my Mazda3 cluster... it'll make the needles dance (self diagnostic) and light up every light, etc etc

How do you call up the "Check"-mode?
The "Check"-mode can be called up, keep the function button pushed while the ignition is on. At the same time you must turn off the ignition and turn it on again. push the function button frequently you can call the different information starting with the testsum of the programmed bytes.
To leave the special mode you turn off the ignition, so you see the normal mode of the comptuer again.
