I saw this short ram air intake made by HKS (one of the top tuner companies of the JDM world). Although they dont have one for jettas, I saw one for 1998 & up Beetles with 2.0 engines. Because my jetta also has a 2.0 engine, do you think that part will fit on my jetta?

Heres the spec & photos: http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=813&rsku=

Any advice or comments are welcomed. Thanks!

Well, is your car a mk4 or mk3? If you have a mk3 it most definately will not work. AEG has the intake on the drivers side of the car whereas the ABA has it on the pass. side. if youve got a mk4 Im sure you could make it fit even thought the nose and engine compartment is shaped differently. But honestly what makes that intake worth 150 bones? i think you are just paying for a name. K&N panel filter in mod'd airbox is good enough for me. Same flow, less $$ thats my 2 cents.

**EDIT** Uhh, didnt mean to flame you, its your money spend it how you want. Party on!

About the $150, I found a place where they sell it around $75.00

I have an mk4. I was looking at the 1998 to 1999 beetle 2.0 engines and they look exactly the same. Also, both intakes are on the drivers side.

Here are some photos to compare on:

Heres one from a 1998-1999 beetle 2.0 http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-10/451654/653005_5_full.jpg

Heres one from a 2001 jetta 2.0 http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-10/451654/628615_7_full.jpg

What do you guys think? Will it work?
