Yeah... When I get off work tonight, I will DEFINATLY add the recent topics module... Me and yellow hummer worked diligently till almost midnight last night trying to get the site to a workable form as it is now. Tonight I will remaster the look of the site, and install some of our favorite modules... This is a great place for suggesstions, this topic. I will make sure to take into account everybody's suggestions, and try my hardest to implement that. Other than that, if you have any concerns feel free to PM me.

OKAY everybody... Email problems are solved... Yellowhummer seemed to have some SMTP server of his own setup in there and it wasnt working correctly, I slapped my own in there, and wham ****k... It's working great now. I deleted all the bouncing users, so yall should be getting your confirmation emails now. Everybody that didnt get their confirmation emails, please sign up again, and it should work, and as always, PLEASE give it a try, and lemme know how it's working out.

Any more suggestions?

the whole log in/out system still is kinda messed up, whenever you go to the home page you have to log back in.

and also with the latest threads, you see the same thread on there like two or three times.

When you login once, it says on the homepage that you are not logged, but you really are... Next time you are logging in try just clicking on one of the topics, and it will say you are logged in... Only when you continually try to login does it mess up your cookies... Trust me on this one. If you log in once, then the session lasts for 3,600 seconds... Even if it says you are not logged in, you really are... SAVVY? And yes, guest account will be disabled when I get home, so I suggest you register now!

I've got a suggestion for you; Cody. The latest threads secion on the left is useless. It shows you the last 10 posts. So if all 10 posts are in the same thread, it'll just give you the 10 posts in that thread. You guys seem to be set on having this site mirror the old Jetta Owners site and that was not how it was. On Jetta Owners it would show the last 10 threads that were responded to.

Just a suggestion though.

no functionality problems per se, it is just not very fun to look at. i can live with it, i just wasn't sure if it was a problem on my end or not? it is still 100 times better than the new JO, i was just there, and it is very difficult finding anything.

forgot to login again, maybe getting rid of the "guest" posting feature isn't a bad idea... that way people will have to join???

i agree guest posting no good, if you disable guest posting is much easier to regulate the users :)

I'm sure you can find other descriptive words- not that I don't like to curse, but someday I will have kids, who hopefully will be VW owners, who hopefully will be reading forums just like this one (if not this one) and I really would rather they not see those words. I'm sure thay will see and hear curses from other places, and an automotive board shouldn't be one of them.

Only registered users may post now. About the word filters, only a few select 4 letter words are filtered. If you are constantly swearing, or making a habbit of it, I will simply remove you from the website. I shouldnt have to filter some things like that.... It just simply should'nt happen... I don't mind the occasional "****" or "damn", just use with moderation, and the site will continue to be fun for everybody.

I don't know if there is another post where I should put this or if you've said it already, but I'm having issues with seeing the new posts since I last logged on. For some reason it clears them when I log in, and then if people post while I'm logged in, they show up. Kinda weird.

If you are meaning this kind of error:

The problem is caused by your internet connection, let's say your ISP.

The reason?? they are using IP acceleration techniques, like those used in Satellite internet connections, where every TCP/IP header is "pre"-acknowledged before it reach its actual final host.

I got several connections here, a DSL, a dedicated E3 and a VSAT system I notice the "problem" in the VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) which uses this IP acceleration technology (latencies are in average 300ms round trip, so they need to be accelerated).

Check if your ISP or your internet service has IP acceleration, this should not cause any problem other than the annoying "header error"

Definitively not, but you are running an older version of PHP 5.0.2 wich combined with PHPNuke leaves a lot of security issues open.

PHPNuke is great, but its author was not security-concerned, currently all nuke-based sites have critical security issues.
