What does a capacitor do for your soundsystem??

It is like a second power supply. If you are pulling too much juice from your stereo and the battery and alternator can't supply enough (lights dimming etc) then you need a cap. It just ensures that there is always enough power for the amp(s). The guy at the stereo shop told me that you probably won't need a cap unless you have multipal amps or one huge one.
If your lights are dimming, you will damage your battery and alternator eventually.

ahhh nice maybe thats why my battery died before cause i did abuse it :lol:

Stiffening Cap... Eases the strain on the alternator like the other guys said... Lights wont dim anymore either.

i need to add one to my system... is it bad im on my 3rd alternator since buying the car 10 years ago? :twisted:
doesnt help that 2 of them have been crappy remanufactured ones from canadian tire... but still...
