... but only to be spent on the car you currently own... what would you do?

Myself, with my 87 Jetta GLI Wolfsburg:

I'd want a VR6 transplant as well as basically everything else in the car re-done. So it's practically a brand new car except for the body and interior. I'd have the car painted with a glossy blue colour... not totally sure yet but something like WRX Blue. Then have totally suede interior (big seats) that much the exterior. Then get big bumpers and side skirts that also match the paint, and 4 headlight european grill with european license plate. Get a nice exhaust, not a fart can to make it sound like a hot rod, just something not so loud but a nice purr to it.

For the stereo, I'll have to have 2 subs and 6 speakers positioned around the car. Just a plain ol CD deck in the car, I'm not picky.

In the back of the car there'll be a small TV in each of the front seats and a DVD player in between the two, something you'd see in pimp my ride.

Oh, and I want MK3 door handles, because I don't really like the MK2 ones, and I want cup mirrors and other basic accessories like that.

Then, I'd have this totally custom built for me.... hydraulics. I don't mean bouncing around kind of thing, but so I could drive around all summer with my car lowered, and then when the winter comes I can have it back up to stock height when i put my winter tires on for driving up the ski hill and such.

You guys know a lot more about this kind of stuff than me and can probably get pretty descriptive, I just have a visual image in my head about what I want but have trouble speaking it.

Your turn.

Hmm... i'm afraid to go into too much detail, I'll write a book, so... if I had unlimited money:

I would convert to a hard top convertible, one that you wouldn't even notice would be a convertible otherwise. I'd paint it irridescent, not sure on the colors.. I'd have schmidt modern line rims, and of course I'd hafta have the fenders pulled to fit those things on. I'd have a R32 twin turbo engine installed, with all the goodies and upgrades. I'd convert to a dual exhaust as well. In addition, I'd reform a lot of things out of fiber glass such as the hodd in order to lose some extra pounds. And of course, I'd keep my golf front end, I'd just ****e it up a bit with aftermarket and euro parts. Oh, and don't forget safety: Brembo brakes :)

As for the interior, I'd do all cream leather. and when I say all, I mean ALL: roof, dashboard, seats, paneling, floor, everything! I'd ****e it up with some other aftermarket parts, and that would be that.

And the sound system... well damn, with no money limits, I don't even know the best equipment I could buy...

If I had unlimited money ONLY to be used on my Jetta, I would buy a natural aspirated, genuine racing engine modified to have low end torque. After that was installed, I would change the drivetrain to a Rear Wheel drive (FR) to give it better maneuverability. To maximize its cornering, I would buy custom suspension that would adapt to changing road conditions so I will never need to keep changing the suspension settings. As GoodDay mentioned, Brembo brakes are also a must. Next, I would lighten the car as much as possible while keeping the interior sporty yet comfy. Finally  , I would work on the aesthetics. Oettinger wheels & body kit , a navigational system with a flipout screen to never get lost and.....the final touch......a girl to share the pure pleasure of driving this beast quickly through the scenic mountain roads...... :D

There are much more I'd like to add, but this short summary takes care of the major parts! :D

Current car? how about cars?

The Jetta would be turned into my winter beater, a killer sound system and heated seats, nothing too fancy.
Now, the Rabbit  I'll start on the interior, Heated leather seats (black) black MK1 dash, SNES in the middle seat in the rear with 2 screens in the front seats and a screen for the front. Killer sound system.

Now the exterior, BBS body kit, black paint job, Window tint, DUBNET sticker in the rear window, lowered (coil overs) some old school rims, quad square grill, 100% custom tails (I'll make them myself) and a roof mounted antena.

Now the engine, I would either swap a TDI or a 1.9 TD in there, mod it to the max, full exhaust, P&P, Cams, twin turbo etc etc

And whatever else I think of with a trunk full of money :D

^ Dude, SNES, PIMP!

That just gave me such a perfect idea. If I ever install TVs or something in car.. I'm putting in an NES. My brother has one in his room.

If I had unlimited money, I would probably go buy a tourareg V10 tdi, and swap the entire interior into a 91 or 92 Jetta... prefurably a GLI or a Coupe. I would then proceed to install the 4WD drive train into the jetta. I would most likely have to use the air suspension on the tourareg cause the V10 TDI weighs about 700lbs. For that, I'd probably end up having to find some sweet 17 inch bbs's to sit the car on.

As far as engine modifications, I would DEFINATLY do turbo upgrades, enlarged injectors, chip, etc... Hopefully I'd be able to peak the performance at about 450hp and 700lb ft of torque.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

If I decided not to take the diesel route, I would probably stick a W8 into the jetta... Mabey the new 3.8L VR6... I dunno.

Lots of options, but the V10 tdi would top my list.
