That is right ladies and gentleman. I am now the proud owner of a diesel rabbit. Actually, 4 rabbits. My uncle gave me a parts car today (rabbit), and the rabbit I just bought comes with 2 other rabbits. All for the low price of $300.
It's the one I was thinking of buying first, where he was asking $700. Only 145 699 kms.

Both... But if you all remember, there was another rabbit I wanted for 600, I think I am still going to buy that one, and that one will be my project and this one I just bought will be my commuter.

I have 2 gassers and 2 diesels now. All rabbits. And a Jetta.

I can't wait to ride in it either :D

I'll be down there ASAP Dave...

Thanks Touge. I am looking at a body kit right now actally. Trying to trade the guy my Jetta for it.

The body kit idea fell through, the guy just kinda laughed at me... said something about me paying him to take my jetta.... but anyways

Now the good news, I picked up another rabbit taday. This is rabbit #3 that is at my house. I'll get pictures of it up soon, probably tomorrow. I feel in love with the color of the car, it's cream color with chrome. Does it ever look SHARP... minus the rust and HUGE dents...

It's a parts car, and once I am done with it it is going to be scrap metal, or a feild racer once I get a better look at the body.

Pictures will be up ASAP :D

OH yeah, if anyone can tell me what a Rabbit LS is it would be appreciated

I'm pretty sure this is a 81.

I did some work on the diesel today. I put on a new driver side exterior door handle since the new one was falling off. I also put a door handle on the inside since there wasn't one. It was getting to be a pain to have to roll down the window to close the door from the inside.
I also changed the hatch. Not a simple thing to do. It sounds easy until you get into the wiring. It wasn't super hard or anything, it just took a pile of time, like 2.5 hours (that is alot of time for 4 bolts). The reason I changed the hatch is because the old one had a rear windsheil wiper that didn't work, and rather then fixing it, I decided it would be easier to put in one that didn't have a rear wiper. The one I installed also has less rust (way less) and there isn't that bumper sticker :D.
Next I am going to wire up the horn and reverse lights, then the rad fan, temp gauge and glow plug warm up light. I have to look over the wiring schematics and try and make sence of them first though.
After that I'll hook up the ebrake and probably get under the car and get new shifter bushings.
Oh yeah, I have to fix the driver side door hinge, the door won't really close from the inside.
Once all that is done, I am going to take it to a shop and try and get it certified. I know that it has a burst brake line, but I don't really feel like finding it and then bleeding the brakes, but I might give it a go if it ever warms up.

Once all that is done, my winter beater/daily driver will be ready to go. I had initially planned on doing a 4spd to 5spd tranny swap, but I am going to wait until I drop the Turbo Diesel in there to do that.

Way in the future I plan on changing the passanger side door and front fenders with some others that I picked up that are pretty rustless. Currently my front fenders have rusted some holes in them

OH yeah, I have to get the leaks in my windsheil seal fixed too, either tar, or bring it to a windsheild place.

I just reallized I wasted a good hour of my life. I changed the door handle and added on to the inside of the driver door, but I am changing driver door anyways (the whole door). Oh well it was a good learning experience

LOL... I did that... sorta... I worked for 2 weeks on a gasoline engine that was going to be taken out anyway, lol
