After the recent brake in to my car (last weekend) decided some things...
1st i need more than a $100 alram to protect my car, and to get a nicer one i need Power Locks! So i ordered a universal power lock kit off ebay, bought a really nice alpine security system, and replaced the stolen headunit!
The new headunit was big $$ but i got it 35% off cause my friend worked there!
I now own a Pioneer Premier DEH-P7600mp, Sweetest Deck ever has phenominal control! Plus plays Mp3's WMA's and has OEL Grapic display!!

Any chance you want to sell me your old alarm? How much were the power locks? That is an upgrade I will seriously be considoring once I get a car.
That really sucks that you got broken into. Heated seats would have been sick.

Well ill tell the whole story i suppose...
i was in hamilton last weekend and my car was in a public parking lot...
And about 4pm broad daylight some punk smashed the window and the alarm went off, but they managed to get my cd player. It was the first time i actually just left the face plate inside the car (usually take it with me) but i did lock it in the glove box... So they kicked in the glove box broke the lock and got it... whn i came back the flashers were on and the alarm was going off. I felt like crying ahah
turns out the lot attendent had left for a bit, when he came back it had been done so he called the police.... thank *** for the alarm tho they could gotten away with ANYTHING! i had over 100 cds in the back seat n stuff...
and the deductable on it was $500 8O so i had to replace everything myself!
The power locks were $27 CAD with shipping to the US (my friend lives in canada but he works right over the border, so i get stuff sent to him and save on customs!) but it comes with 4 actuator pumps 1 for each door.

ouch sorry to hear... public parking lots are dangerous... unfortunately with your car being such a brite white it really sticks out in a crowd... and of course the glovebox is the first place they look for the face
my procedure has always been, if the car is going to be out of my sight, the face comes with me, and i make sure to carry it in my hand as i walk away from the car, if someone was eyeballing me park, they will hopefully see that the face is in my hand... if the car is going to be within sight, or at least earshot of the alarm, then the face gets locked in the trunk... oh and never lock your glovebox, no matter whats in it, mk2's are way too easy to pry open... great design VW!
