well i would laugh if it would happen to me. 1 my driveway is really messed up. so to back the car out would take some time and ridding the clutch cause its a hill.2 i would hear my car and so would my dog-german shepard. 3 time to grab the shotgun. i do live it PA we got the hicks! redneck law is common. cop sees 2 guys fighting the one who wins gets arrested. lol

Think I might go cover my VIN as well, but there is a big thing that concerns me on this whole situation. Maybe this isn't VWOA's policy, but if you go to a Toyota dealer to get keys made for their vehicles, you have to show them your liscence and proof of ownership (either registration or title) before they will give you the key. With no lean on the title, there should have been no way other than the owner to get the key. That's my two cents on it... Messed up situation, glad it's getting resolved.

Well, the bank and/or repo men managed to get a key cut at a VW dealership by just providing the VIN and nothing else 8O if that's true it's concievable that anybody can get a key made of your VW just by getting the VIN. If you cover it up, then it's harder to get.

Ahhhh, the simple pleasure of driving a TDI in a country where the automobile theft is the lowest in the world. :D
