I am a member of both this site, and jettaowners.com and have been a member of the latter site since last summer. I never used it that much, so I really don't quite understand what is going on. Who is 1eightT, why does everyone hate him, and why is Mr. Diesel no longer in charge? Can someone please explain the whole situation.

Thanks.

he screwed up JO with all the upgrades, he banned Mr.Diesel, and then he banned me and Gotturbo

1) 1eightT is the new owner of Jetta Owners.

2) I have no idea why everyone hates him. From what I've read, it seems pretty ridiculous.

3) Mr Diesel was never in charge of Jetta Owners.

I'll let Mr. Diesel and the others explain this to you in depth - but in a nutshell JettaOwners used to have a format very similar to the one you are looking at right now. 1eightT came in and bought the site, and decided that the software JO was using was a bunch of crap. So he scrapped it, no matter what the majority of users thought. From what I understand, Mr. Diesel and other moderators lost hours of moderating work, and the typical JO member lost a few (or in some cases a few hundred) posts. Some people don't like him because of the drastic change, other people don't like him for other reasons. I know there is more to the story - so I'll let someone else elaborate. But you get the basics. Matter of fact, why not read this:

Mr. Diesel was a moderator, a position given to members in good faith that they will watch the boards, because the owner (or administrator) can't always be watching every single post. So in a way Mr. Diesel was partially in charge of JettaOwners.

In addition - hasn't anyone noticed the decline in new membership since the change? only 5,084 members - a very small increase. JO was getting alot more members alot faster before, active or not.

You were never important to Jetta Owners. Either was Gotturbo for that matter. And upgrading the site didn't screw it up.
i never said i was important to JO, infact i know i wasn't important i was only on the website for a month or so.

LOL now that I know who you are - There was a whole Chuck E. Cheese discussion going on that was lost - I signed on one day to let everyone know that there is a new Chuck E. Cheese going up near me and the post was gone... I wanted to reassure the public that Chuck E. Cheese was not going out of business.

That was a very important thread and was very upsetting to lose.
