I want a VR6, yeah i know, I know who doesn't? Well anyway what would be the cheapest way to approach this?
A. Buy a wrecked VR6 and rebuild it.
B. VR6 Swap in my Jet.
C. Sell my Jetta and buy a VR6 with that.
I'd have to get a rental car or something keep that im mind
I'm hoping choice A will be the cheapest b/c I kinda want a project car. I need something I can drive while it's being completed, which will take a while on my budget. Plus it would be cool to have a daily driver and a VR for the weekends!

Well im not sure to tell you the truth. Probably decently wrecked enough to where the value drops conciderably and where it is somewhat drivable ...catch my drift?

the terms 'VR6' and 'budget' don't go together very well... my choice would be C.

Well I kind of want to get A wrecked VR6 so i can have something to work on a little bit. How much do you think it would cost for a wrecked vr6 in the long run?

Any way you do this, it's going to cost a lot... That's why I gave up and decided I'll just turbo my car this summer

You can pick up a VR6 Jetta, that same vintage of car that you own now for around $5000 to $7000 depending on the miles and condition it is in.

Yeah, I thought about upgrading to a 1.8T or VR6, but now I'm just thinking of going with the Neuspeed supercharger for $2500. Not bad for a 50% horsepower boost.

That link probably won't work. Just search autotrader.ca in all regions. Use the area code P0H if you want. It's a 95 passat

I know a classmate of mine who, at once, wanted a VR6 also. However; he supercharged his 2.0 jetta, and now, he drives with the utmost of satisfaction, especially when he eats up many VR6-powered jettas  . I definitely think its much more cost-efficient to either turbocharge or supercharge your jetta. You'll save a huge amount of money in the end which you can use to further "perfect" your car. :D

Here in the near future I am planning on force feeding my car. There are SC's and TC's out there. I have thought a lot about EIP's turbo kit as I have tons of room behind the motor and the firewall to install it. Stage one is a 12 hour bolt on that will give the car about 277 wheel horsepower. The VR will definately need a limited slip differential installed at that point. With EIP's kit you can upgrade all the way to stage four, which spits out over 400 wheel horsepower. However by that point I am almost positive that I will need forged pistons, rods and crankshaft to continue to allow it to be a daily driver as well.

If you are lucky enough to find a VR6 that's been wrecked, the ideal way to go would be to use that as a donor car and swap it into your 4 cyl jetta.
