I was trying to remove the dash from my Mk2 Jetta. I had to take off the steering wheel and I didn't have a steering wheel puller. I start pulling on it but it is on there super good. I am pretty much pulling with all my strength when all of a sudden it lets go and it smokes me in the face. It felt awesome.
So what have you done?

hmmmm... where do i start?
Lets ee, well there was this one time a decided to drift around a corner and slammed my rear end into the sidewalk... causing my rear axel to snap in half, brake the brake lines, and cause the rear/passenger tire to break completely off the axel... That sucked for my jetta....
And my first vw was an mkII golf... that got sandwhiched in between two pickups on the freeway, my headlight was shove into the engine and the hatch got push into the rear passengers... how did this happens do you ask??? they chased us in a high speed chase because we throw an egg at one of their trucks... VERY stupid...
And then i flew my jetta (before H&R ultra-lows) and caught like 5 feet air... funnyy as hell
I also put a glow kit on their... I like it but according to alot of people that could be considered a stupid thing...

The dumbest and scariest thing I did was changing out the starter when I had the 8 valve motor in there. I did not realise that one of the starter bolts also was tied into the motor mount. I had the car on jackstands and was under the motor and trans trying to remove the bolt. When it finally loosened, the motor and trans assembly dropped almost four inches towards me. Scared the crap out of me. I ended up using the floor jack to bring the motor back to it's original position after I installed the new starter to get that bolt back in.

a couple weeks ago i went to go check on my winter beater in storage (i believe the alternator is bad) i jumped it took it for a drive and put it back in storage. I wish i woulda remember before i left and locked it up...how am i supposed to jump it when the front of the car is facing the back of the storage!!!??!? the car doesnt go into neutral even if the key is in. So i have to borrow a portable charger or go buy one.

when i was wireing my neons under my dash i never marked the wires and trying to be thrifty i used the same color wire for my main and for my ground so i took out the old assembly that was all screwed up and i accidenty slipced in 2 mains to the switch and flip it on, the stereo went dead the switch blew and i blew the fuse to the switch and to my raido..etc... oh and also syfining gas out of a non clear hose and getting a mouthful of gas, that stuff burns!

Ok, this was beyond stupid, this was just...wrong. Ok, it was raining really hard here and I was out driving and there was this puddle, it looked harmless, WRONG! It was about a foot deep anyway I stalled the car out in the thing and started it up luckly and drove out of it...took a while for the car to run right after that.

One time before Race Wars I didn't get this team it's three spoon engines for their civics. Needless to say they took me to their shop in chinatown and threatened me with 40...no I think 30 wt oil in my mouth. I told them I would try to get the engines, but I don't really like Hondas.
Wait, nevermind, that was the Fast and the Furious movie (except for the last part  )

Before I saved Marcelus Wallis from being raped I crashed my girlfriend's honda. When I came back to the motel with Zed's chopper, she asked "What happened to my Honda?" I told her "Sorry babe, I had to crash that Honda."

ok lets get back on topic, you guys ever do an oil change and start to put new oil in and see it running out your car, and you either forgot to put a new oil filter on and or the drain plug back in?

Back in the dark ages when I first started driving, I thought I could leave the oil filter off and start the engine to get all the oil out of the engine first.... LOL, so I started it and let it run for like 10 seconds... I opened the hood and there was OIL EVERYWHERE... It sprayed out all over everything and onto the driveway and all that crap..... Yikes. Boy was I a greenhorn. 8O

I drove my car down to slickrock country here in Utah 2 years ago with a buddy to go camping. I drove on a fairly well graded dirt road for about 20 miles into the heart of the desert, and then got off on a dirt track for about 3 miles or so. Problem was that in the middle of the dirt track brush and weeds had grown substantially, about 15-16 inches tall. It was dry and flexible enough I just drove over it. After about a mile of this, smoke started coming from the undercarriage. I stopped and looked under and noticed that the exhaust had accumulated a fair amount of this stuff that had gotten stuck under there and was on fire! I ended up yanking what was not burning and stopped the fire, rather quickly. Fortunately there was no damage other than the interior smelling like smoky weeds.

One time I was changing the oil and I had set the drain plug down beside me. I went to get the oil or something from the shelf and when I came back the drain plug was missing. I couldn't find it anywhere. Turns out my dog thought it looked cool and carried it away with her. I managed to find it in her pile of dog bones.

I haven't really owned mine long, but yesterday I was driving in this gravel parking lot that made me REALLY wanna just pin the gas, pull the ebrake and turn the wheel... but I resisted and instead drove off a pretty high curb without knowing it. Luckily my car didn't hit the ground.
Other stupid thing would probably be driving around for 1 1/2 weeks without a speedometer so basically having no idea how fast I'm going. I can guess when I'm just going around in the city no problem and go with the traffic, but when i'm in 5th with the pedal to the floor I have no idea.

i went to one of those "do it yourself" high pressure car washes to give my car a nice cleaning...and after vaccuming the interior i pull it into the stall to wash the car. instead of hitting the brake while pulling in i hit the gas, and slammed into a concrete pillar next to the wall. it ended up scrapping about 4 inches of paint off the bumper and ripped a good amount of the plastic bumber under the paint....i was definatly pissed off.

Shizz, the only dumb thing I did to my VW was trying to add oil when the engine was running, as soon as I started, the fluid was spilled out, not a mess but just don't know why I tried to do that.

 Just for future reference guys: When that tuna salad goes bad, DO NOT, I said DO not try and empty the tupperware out the window at highway speeds. The following bad things happened after I did this:
1. Flies.
2. Dust stuck to the mayo after I drove down a dirt road.
3. Some of it blew back inside, smelling like a bad date. :(
