A2 power sunroof conversion DIY!

Ok this is my first DIY so bear with me here.
first thing you need are the parts : 1 and audi 4000 or 5000 sunroof motor
2. the switch
3. and housing(which im not totaly sure about what will fit.)
ok i hope you guys dont go crazy because of the detail l go into .
first thing you do is remove the manual crank its easy one screw secures it.

next is to remove the plug powering the dome light and set the panel to the
side

next remove the manual gear drive two philips screws and it should come
right out. set that to the side ,also dont misplace the screws as you will need them again. notice in the picutre i have already removed the bracket, but it will be there and looks like this.

next is to pop the welds on the bracket and remove it, i used a chisel and it came off easily. this is what you should be left with.

im stoked on it man. im gonna be so happy when i get the switch and panel all
installed its gonna be SWEEET! 8O

Good write-up Dave.I also have the power sunroof conversion.Quick question though.Do you have the problem were the sunroof cranks to about mid-point and stops then you have to press the button again to get it to open/close fully?I was talking to a friend and he said all I had to do was swap out the relay but I can't remember which relay he said to use :cry:
