If someone has recommendations on these, or some tips please let me know. I have been thinking about picking one up for a while now, and I am mainly interested in using the Dremel for engraving. This may sound odd but I enjoy bagging summits throughout the year. Kind of as a momento, I usually bring back a summit rock from the top of the mountain. Usually with these rocks I sharpie them, mainly the title of the summit and it's elevation. I am wanting to know if a Dremel tool has bits that can engrave stone. Please let me know!
The pics below are from the summit of Mt. Marvine, above the Fish Lake area of Utah, sitting at about 11,610 feet in elevation. The summit is made of Basalt, an extrusive magma formation formed around 15 million years ago.

This shot was taken over Buckhorn Wash in the San Rafael Desert in Central Utah. The rock formation is Navajo Sandstone, ancient sand dunes formed during Triassic times.

Climbed this one three weeks ago, Red Baldy on the Alpine Ridge above Little Cottonwood and American Fork canyons just east of Salt Lake City. The rock here is quartzite, which is metamorphic, basically crystalized sandstone, this rock is pre-cambrian, or roughly older than 500 million years.

Thats awesome. If no one has an answer for you you could try emailing the company or going to a store that sells them and talking to a sales rep. I've also been told to buy one but I am too lazy....

I used a buddies a while back to cut out the holes on my big bumper on the front of the Jetta for the factory foglights, and it kicked arse.

Yep, that is a desert fox. I was standing taking pic's of the Jetta against the Entrada sandstone down in the desert, and this fox trott's along the ledge just below where I was standing. He saw me then started running, I was just lucky to get that shot in. - Anyhow, where do you recommend getting the bits for that?

Ok, call me a hippie but i really don't condone people taking stuff from places like that, i also don't judge people so ignore what i said...
First, if you want to engrave a dremel is not what you want. For one it would be hard, second it would take MANY dremel blades, like about $5.00 a rock if your really good, third it would look really ****ty no matter how good you were at it, and fourth there are tools called engraving tools that come with tips for different materials. The engraving tools look like small jack hammers and are used a lot in engraving serial numbers on things like school or government computers or other objects that they defile with their damn numbers. Anyway, ENGRAVING TOOL look for it, get it, it is exactly what you want.

I try to climb as much as I can, mainly it is just getting work off and getting the chance to take off for a while. I can tell you that hiking and climbing is a lot cheaper than building up a VW. Mainly on one day hike or climb I need water, (free) a couple of *****s, ($1.50) gas for the car, ($5.00 to $25.00 depending on the destination) and that is about it. I've done 8 climbs this year, all summits, costing me about a total of $200.00 for the whole climb budget. On the other hand this year I am into my Jetta over $6000.00. Problem is I like doing both!

That's awesome. I wish there was mountains to climb here. I do have tons of trees to walk through though and lakes to swim in.

Im not trying to say anything bad about climbing, i was just pointing out that in areas that are well climbed there are getting fewer and fewer of the rocks, tree branches, and other things that can be eaisly taken. It is a real problem in some areas and i wanted to point that out before i told people how to alter them.

Not too worried about these places, looks like there are plenty of rocks to go around. Plus, the log book on this summit stated that the last person was there over a month ago before I climbed it. From where the picture was taken to the west summit in the picture below is nearly half a mile away. I gather that there are over +100,000 tons of rock just in this picture alone. I can see your point on highly popular areas, for example the Grand Tetons, ...etc. Also I understand that taking tree branches may not be cool. The summit rocks I take fit in your pocket, about the size of a silver dollar. Also the ones that I grab are loose scree at the summit, no rock chisel here. 8)
Also, the National Forest Service allows permits for people in the area wanting to gather landscaping rocks, nearly up to half the size of a Jetta. As much as your rig can haul. So a rock about the size of a silver dollar doesn't worry me much here.
