I am going to try and get some info on what a 1993 Passat VR actually has the top speed limiter at, I kind of wonder if they differ from more recent models. I am thinking that a slightly smaller size tire should not account for a 15 mph difference on the top end. Dang, it's going to be chip time soon. Got to get those Dubnetworks stickers on soon... 8)

Anyhow, I don't relish the idea of throwing on some 205-40-17's again. Looks like I will just have to chip that shishnash. 8O

Checked out a couple of chip manufacturers today, so far I am leaning for the Neuspeed one. They claim 9-11 hp at the crank, 5-7 at the wheels. Rev limiter raised to 7100 rpms. I got an email back from Neuspeed claiming that this chip is not soldered into the ECU circuit, it is a drop in. They claim the top speed governor is raised, but did not go into detail on how much. This is what their rep told me via email:

Assuming this is the original ECU, we have seen almost all of
them having a socketed chip and not soldered where you can replace it
yourself. The new rev limiter is at 7100 rpm. For further product
information, ordering procedures, or a dealer near you, please give our

inquiry!

i checked him out he dosent do anything BUT TALK SH** never posted one thread. oh and i think i got a new recruit for us. he is new seems really cool and everyone is being as ass to him on JO. so i invited him to dubnet.

In this one topic I was in on JO, someone flipped out because I had an "o" instead of a "u" or something like that in a fairl difficult word to spell. I lost it when I saw his post. I was like "sorry if you got runner up in a grade 2 spelling B and you feel you have something to prove..."
or something to that effect. Anyways he shut up for a while.

Sorry if the rant was over, I jsut had to squeeze in there.

There was a day when I would tell people JO was the best VW site in the work, then either sausageburner or jettadude opened my eyes. This site is without a doubt the best, and you guys have my word that I will try my hardest to keep it that way. :D

I am the only one with the physical power to bann, allthough if my mods tell me that someone needs to be banned and they have a good reason, I'll ban who(m)ever. The ONLY person that is banned is a man from Jettaowners who used to be our friend... Ninoroony or Unknown Error to those who know him.

There was always something about that guy I didn't like.. which was unfortunate, cause he could sometimes be pretty informative at times. But he also could be very annoying...
