In my a2 jetta i get this funny noise when the car goes over a bump or something.
The sound is comming from the back left of the car. I thought it was the exuast hitting the bumper but im sure its not. As i listen more carefulley sounds like its comming from the panel in the back. its kinda a minor thump or tap.
Any suggestions?
P.S. my struts and shocks are not it either.

I beleive the fuel pump and stuff is right around the rear left tire. You may need to jack the car up to get a good look. I'm not 100% sure though.

A turbo diesel doesnt have a electronic fuel pump... You'll have to describe the sound a bit more.

I have noticed that wasted shocks/struts can be the cause of this, or a rubber exhaust hanger that has failed. The main noise that was coming from the rear of my car was the rear seat, it was not mounted tightly enough. Also an upper/lower strut mount going bad?

I would definatly make sure everything is bolted down tight.

Thank you soo much man!!
Today i had some time to look at the car, turns out a rubber ring around the strut was upside down and caused the noise.
The problem was solved!!! :D :D 8) 8)
