Anyone else out there hate the default settings that come with any OS? Do you like tweaking your computer as soon as you can? List some of your favorite site's here, or throw in some tips.
I'll add mine soon.

What do you mean by tweak? I have never bought a computer, I always build them... Therefore, I have full control of what gets intalled on the computer from the beginning! Not to mention the server that this site runs on was built with my bear hands.... Redhat 9 installed on the server.

I also build my own computers.
By tweaking I mean changing the way the OS runs etc. Here's an example for XP users: Enabling the L2 cache. By defualt WIN XP (maybe only pro) doesn't use the L2 cache. For those that don't know, this is memory that is built into the CPU. It is the second fastest on a computer, the first being the L1 cache. After the L1 and L2 cache, there is RAM and then virtual memory.
For the most part these tweaks are regestry editing, however some that I do also involove the BIOS.
I wish I could overclock, but I bought low quality ram and a low quality motherboard. I don't really know what I was thinking when I built the computer.

Links don't work, funny though, I feel no need to overclock my 3.2 Ghz machine...

Stupid Hotmail. I fixed them I think. My computer is being ghetto and it's not loading any thing.

3.2? That's awesome. I'm running 1.5 ghz
