Newby Needs Help

I recently purchased a 1991 Jetta w/a 1.6 TD. I'm wanting to know if someone can tell me if it's a ECODiesel or not. The only numbers I can find cast into the block are 068403021 AN and 14 2 91 and R12. They are on one side and the other side of the block only has 1.6D Germany. I'm used to Chevy 350's and these are totaly new to me.

Hope you already found your answer but if not;

ECO Diesel's do not have the UFO shaped part on the top of the Injection Pump.

If it has a LDA on it it's a true TD, either way if it has a turbo it's easy to turn up and have some fun..

Thanks for the reply. I found out I have 1 of each. The engine that came in the car was an ECO and an engine I have recently purchased is a true TD.

For what it's worth, all north american 91' Jettas were Eco.
