Well my car will be officially a "project car" next month...

Found a scirocco that im gonna buy and the coupe is going to be put away and will no longer be a daily driver. And slowly but surely i will pour money into it, I already found a place that will do a R32 engine and 6-spd transmission swap, which will be in the distant future. Firts im doing cosmetic then engine.

Im just gonna use this as a kind diary on what i'm gonna do and i'll post pics of what im gonna do.

By the end of October my car will be stripped from the driver and passenger seat back, all turn signals and taillights will be tinted, and i should have these rims on it. (17" GunMetal Motegi MR7 rims)

I havent seen the RS32 setup as far as the motor mount positions is concerned but that will be the bulk of the project getting the motor sit in that A1 chassis. Also a huge V6 up front dosent help with the steering that A1's are known for. Personally i think you'd do better with a 1.8T Motor (as the 1.8l block has all the holes from past designs for motor mounts) and throw out the KKK KO3 turbo and stock exhaust manifold and get a ATP T3 style manifold and T3 style turbo (much bigger) and the 6 speed tranny. also you will find yourself modifing the shifter box area under the car to accept the new cable shift shifter.

But I LOVE THE IDEA!

I just hope after the shop you found that will do it you still have you Limbs ie legs, arms, etc or some gresse...... LOL

My jetta is an A2, and the swap would work, already talked to a vw dealership about it...

They said to take it to this local shop (just so happens i have had work done there before) and have them install the motor and transmission and then bring it to the vw dealership for the actual wiring and such. Not sure yet how much cuz i havent gone into it that far but i will soon cuz i will do it!

The R32 would be sweet, there's only one other car out there like that. That is, an A2 with an R32 engine. That thing would fly :)

I think i'd make small sacrifices for an R32 in an A2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An R32 motor in an A2 would be phenomenal! I wonder how the people who have swapped this already (mainly the Brit's?) configured the AWD system, if any. 241 crank horsepower with 2wd should translate to roughly 185-195 wheel horsepower, if not more. I wonder in the R32 tranny's have limited slip or not. If anyone has more info on this swap, post it! :P

CHANGE OF PLANS:

I decided to wait on the rims for another couple of months...

Decided to do some interior stuff first, so I went to Evolution sports today and bought a schroth 4-point harness w/shoulder pads, In aboput 3 weeks i will have a racing seat put in...

The only problem is I cant decide on which seat to buy... I know i want it to be one piece/non adjustable, and black or black/silver... so help me decide between the Sparco "Fighter" or the Momo T-2000...

Also send me ideas!!!!

I'd say the Sparco seat.
As far as idea's, how about a roll cage? I hear these A2s aren't too good in the event of a crash...

I'm gonna do weight reductions on the jetta to compensate for my stereo system... Since I don't have back doors, I have no reason to have a back seat, so I am going to rip out the back seat and extend the trunk so I have more room for some bigger subwoofers.

Hey guys... In 2 weeks im getting full exhaust and german plates for the front bumper so I need some ideas for what style exhaust and what i want the plate to say...

here some ideas for exhaust...

Either DTM where the tips angle up

Or DTM with the straight tips...
http://www.electrodyne.cc/Merchant2/graphics/00000002/1300052391.jpg

and as for plate ideas i would like it to say something to do with my jetta being a coupe so i was thinking these...

KEEP IN MIND YOU GET 9 CHARACTERS INCLUDING SPACES...

A2 COUPE
2DR JETTA

If you can think of anything better please post them up! Thanks!

Hope you got buckets of $$$$ Would definately be cool, but prolly not the best "bang for the buck" That much torque in a fwd A2 would be pointless until you got into mid 3rd(IMO) Props to you for doing the undoable but I would rather build a 16v/ABA hybrid turbo :-P. Have fun dude!

Sure it is realistic. What is the rush seriously? It all has to get done, why not start on the looks? why not do a little here and a little there.. why should he do the engine first? does it even matter what order he gets it done in?

Even if it is unrealistic, what is the problem with having a dream? It's a good idea.
