1.6na to turbo diesel?

alright i'm sure this has been asked before but after a good amount of looking i have found nothing, i might be getting an 81 rabbit soon and its an na diesel i really want a turbo diesel so i know i need the intake manifold turbo manifold and turbo,oil lines,return lines, but i heard you need to drill and tap the block for the return line, do you have to? cant you route it back to the oil pan?

also what other parts might i need?

You also need a Turbo IP... it flows much more fuel. I am sure you could use the N/A one, but it is much easier with the right equipment... also the return line is in the oil pan. I saw one of those on Ebay a couple of weeks ago as well...

You don't need to drill the block for the oil return... Drill the oil pan. It's easy and works great. Do it 1 inch from the top of the oil pan so as not to be submerged in oil. You don't need a turbo injector pump, in fact I recommned you don't do a turbo pump... the more fuel you add, the hotter the engine will get and you risk popping a head gasket or shortening hte life of your engine. If you want, you can turn the fuel delivery screw up 1/2 turn, that will add a bit of fuel and won't hurt your engine. Granted, you wont make as much power as a factory 1.6TD, but IT REALLY DOES LIVEN THE ENGINE UP!!! This engine was meant to be turboed... you will be amazed at how much better it is to drive with a turbo.
