Gas to Diesel

I am just curious as to what all would be required for a 1.8 8v gas engine swap to a TD swap. What would be the best engine size? I don't need a proceedure yet, just what all would be required. This is for when I blow up my 1.8l, I just want to be prepared.
It's a 1985 Jetta.

the 1.6 should fit right in. but you gotta run all new fuel lines and electronics and what not. but the engine should fit.

Yeah I figured that, I was thinking that I would need a new tranny, exhaust, gas tank, lines, fuel pump.
I just want to know so when I do get the parts, I get everything.
