I am just wondering how hard it is to switch my rear drums for rotors. I know that they have kits for this, but is it possible to do without buying the kit? I have to get new drums anyways so I figure I may as well upgrade them while I'm at it.

go to a junk yard and find a carat or a GLI A2 and take them and find a how to there is a semi easy way to do it.

Ok sounds good. Thanks. I also heard that a scirocco would work?

the only problem with mk2 rear disks is the ebrake tends to seize up
if you can get the setup off of a mk3 they have a improved ebrake
your gonna need pretty much everything thats attached to the stubaxle
including the stub axle heh

So are you saying I should just get a MK3 and transfer everything over? Would it be cheaper just to get new drums?

my buddy used G60 disc brakes on his rocco and it works great, easy to put on too.
