door rattle

The front passenger door on my 96 Jetta GL, has developed a rattle, any sugestions on what to look for to solve this little anoyance (besides turning the radio up)? I think that I've read about this being a bit of a problem before, but I'm not sure about that.

could be anything... I'd take the door panel off and see if the noise remains... If it goes away when you remove the door panel, then just get some rubber epoxy and make a coat of expoxy all the way around the door panel where the panel meets the metal of the door... (don't forget to let it dry first :lol: )

On my 87 gli i got a bunch of these rubber gasgets for plumbing and used them as washers to elimate the noise, and i used them to mount the speakers, whiched really reduced rattle and speaker noise.
