ok i got a 1990 caberolet sitting in my drive way with about the same mileage. now if you have seen my jetta, with the new rims, its sitting kinda high. and i wanna lower it but i don' t have the money for a cup kit, and i don't wanna cut my springs. so i got a thinking, if i could take the suspention out of the cabby and put it on my jetta? the car sits lower then my jetta when it had stock wheels on it, and it weighs alot less. so with them on my jetta it should sit nicely and still have a nice feel to it. my ? is does anyone know if this would bolt right up? or anyother options to lowing my car besided heat sag/ cutting the springs, and buying a $600+ lowering kit?

Every consider just buying lowering springs? about $200-$250 installed at most places, depending on where you go.

too much work... You might as well cut your springs if you are going to get a lower kit in the future anyway. I don't see why the cab suspension wouldnt fit in a jetta, but you have to realize you need a machine to get the springs on the car... The reason I reccomend cutting some coils outta the springs is because then you can do it yourself without the aid of this tireshop spring compressor. Anyway man... your question is kind of odd that's not a common swap out... so I couldnt tell you weather or not it would work... but I don't see why it wouldnt.

I'm not sure where you live, but if you happen to live in Canada then chances are there is a Canadian Tire around. They rent out auto tools for FREE. All you have to do is pay full price up front (so you don't steal it) and then when you bring it back they give you 100% of your money back. Also, a somewhat cheap way for you to lower your car would be to sell your old suspention to me, as long as it still has some life left in it. That way you would offset the cost of new suspention.
