84' Rabbit Diesel - For sale as whole or part out.

I had a 79 Rabbit L, was a great car, got rid of it after it rteached 300,000 miles, the floor pan was compleatly rusted out. Wouldn't mind getting another.

It needs glow plugs, retourqing of headbolts (just did headgasket), and a valve cover gasket... Also needs a flasher relay and some light bulbs! Runs pretty great... Has way over 300,000... The odometer died at like 285,000, that was back in 1990(ish).. It smokes pretty badly under hard acceleration, but cruises at highway speed without any smoking! 500 bucks and it's yours. By the way, we spraypainted a peace sign on the hood, which you may or may not wanna paint over again.

What's the floor pan like? I assume it's an NA diesel?
Glowplugs are an easy fix, and I've repaired VW odos before, also fairly easy.
I also had a diesel Escort that went 300,000 miles, but I likes the Rabbit much better.

The speedo works, but mileage doesnt turn over. Trip meter works. The car is in Spanish Fork, Utah... Zip 84660

Yeah... Escort and Tempo went hand in hand... Remember talking about the diesel tempo? It's the same engine... Very solid long lasting engine.

Well, it's a little far for me for a $500 car. :(

The Escort Diesel was a 2.0l Mazda diesel, it was a very reliable engine, however it was very fussy about it's oil. My Escort Diesel met the same fate as my Rabbit Diesel, rust...

Ohhh well... I'm just kinda taking offers and stuff right now. The car is technically my friends up in Canada.... Were trading for some stuff, but I have to put new glow's and toque the head down again so it's running good when I take it to him.

HEY!!! I drove it the other day... It took 3 minutes of cranking to get it started, but I had to remove it from my friends driveway, so I drove it home!!!! LOL, a big huge black plume came out the exhuast... It was friggen incredible... Anyway, the rabbit is running great now that winter has left.
