i dont think i have heard of anyone out side of china with it
because of the cost to get the stuff here is retarded
however you can get the tail light setup off of ebay all day long :)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7915670154&category=42613

i think to run that front end you would have to replace a whole lotta stuff
(quater panels, radiator support, & hood amongst other things)

im trying to find a better side shot...stupid vw of china cant take a good side profile shot >_<
i've seen what looks like 2 dif styles on the chinese jetta's
the normal handles what we have
and the new style chinese handles

i've seen two styles of these handles. one my gf put on her car, a golf, and they are pretty nice, and they are the same ones in the pics, but the ones i got for my car are a little different. they have a backing to them, and the handle pulls up, not pistol style, and not like the previously stated ones. the only problem is that one hole in the handle does not mathch up. so i'm gonna drill another hole in the plastic to put them on. i'll get some pics of them soon.

I have seen these (chinese door handles) for sale from a store (not ebay related). The only thing is they are from Africa, so shipping might kill you (but due to conversion rates, it might be cheaper). I lost the link when I formatted, I'll ask Ligur to post it.

Those A2 Chinese model Jetta's sure catch the eye. It would be cool if they were to import some to North America, I only wonder how they meet safety and emission standards for a 2003-2004 car, crash test ratings and all of that other crap. I can try and source out some interior pictures, I believe they use the MK3 style dash, different door cards, you name it. Also, those cars come with one engine option I believe, 2.0L. If they were to slam a VR6, (even a 24V) or a 1.8T into those cars I would just have to have one, no questions asked. :D

Reminds me of a passat/jetta mix. Wait until someone lower's one of these with coilovers and 17's. (Anyone else think these things look like an older model Sentra?) Not dogging the cars, they have potential. I just like some of the upgrades on the car.

oh ya just got my chinese door handles in the mail today!!
9 days from hongkong not bad, they went on without to much of a hassle
but you might need to use a few washers on the inner door screw to get them to function properly. other than that the only thing i dont like about them is the lack of a front mounting screw like the old ones, that woudl make them feel way more secure.
but over all effect and function is a 10 out of 10 in my humble opinion,
you just need a little patientce and a few cusswords and your good LOL.

Just bored and thought I would make a topic on chinese door handles since everyone keeps asking me about them and info on them...

Installation... is quite easy, they fit snuggly in. You use they same lock cylinder from youe previouse handles (make sure to put your key in when pulling it out from previous handles!) and then put it in the CDH (chinese door handles) and then install on the door and tighten in the side door screw.

Where can you find them??? Ebay! that's the only place that I know of or even heard of that sells them. just type "chinese door handles" in the search option.

- How much? they run about $20-$25 a pair... depending on how lucky you get while bidding.

PROS
- They look slick as hell!
- alot easier to open (when fine tuned***)

CONS
- would probably look better painted
- They are pretty flimsy
- *** fine tuning takes time and patience... lots of patience...

Don't know about what side the Chinese drive on in the car, but every Chinese model A2 I have seen in pics the wheel is always on the left. All the more reason I wouldn't mind getting one, and doing a few mod's here and there until it met my tastes. :P

I'm loving those interior shots.

Maybe a reason for the confusion is that there are different models of A2s. Like the north american ones, in 1990 they get big bumpers and changes like that. They've had about 20 years to update the A2, so I think that it would have gone under alot of changes in that time.

Dude, what I wanna know is where I get all these freaking parts! I want to convert my front bumper (not headlights) and stick some of those fog lights/blinkers on my A2!!! I really like the interior too... If they are still being made, then there has GOT to be a place where we can get these parts made specificly for our cars (a2's).

Any got a chinese hookup?

51$ for all 4 shipped from hong kong it only tooklittle over a week to get here
the winning bid was 36$ i believe so they do get you a bit in shipping .
but its from hongkong. and they are awesome!!
you might have to use like 2 washers with the provided screws in the inner door screw so it dosent interfere with the mechanism
but other than that its easy as hell to swap your lock cyls.
and they look SICK!
