View Full Version : MK3 Trim
Hi fellas, what adhesive do you recommend to fix the exterior strip of trim on a MK3?
Bernie.
Mine is hanging off only on one part of it, so I'm just going to reattach it w/ crazy glue

Go to walmart near the spray paint they have 3m double sided foam tape, clean the molding and the door with alcohol (after you have removed all the old tape) and stick it on, do two strips on each molding, one across the top and one on the bottom of each trim piece and it should hold.
even w/ a black car? the sun won't heat it up too much and cause it to peel again?
actually, I guess it doesn't matter, because if it does, we are no worse off.

That stuff works really good.
I get mine from a auto paint shop, they sell paint supplies. I buy the black thin 3m tape. It's about 3/8-1/2 wide and is on a 50' roll. Cant remember the cost but that stuff will hold about anything.
I will be using it soon to attach the upper part of my flares as I'm going to need to cut the lip off so it doesn't rub the tire under compression.

i used an outdoor double stick foam found at home depot. it is gray in color and seems to hold up well against the elements. its been almost three years since i re-attached mine just after i bought my car used and it is still in the same spot.
