91 jetta vs 98 bmw

yea so my friend chris that i work with drives some sort of a bmw, i never really pay much attention to the model of it.. but anyway we ride down to get some cigs and hes like man i wanna race you. so were coming back down the highway and when it turns back into a 55 i got beside him, you hear him slam the petal to the floor and his motor kickinto high rpms. i just take it out of 5th gear, slam it into 3rd and crack about 80, hit 4th and i pulled on him like he was standing still. he calls me and goes man thats bull $hit! you have to have something done to that little vw, its fast as hell

for me, BMW and VW has the same level. about the performance i think they have the same, its up to the car owner how he/she upgraded the car. annd for some they put some BMW accessories (http://www.thepartsbin.com/bmw_auto_parts.html) unlike to VW's that has a very simple and unique look.
