View Full Version : CAR IDLE AND RUN TROUBLE

I have a Jetta GLS 97 and I tried to start my car today and the damn thing wouldn't start... when it finally did it ran like **** and the min i gave it some gas the thing shut off.. i've had a similar problem like this a few weeks ago and i changed the spark plugs and wires. i'm all out of ideas please help i need my car for work!!!

soudns like a MAS problem.

Actually it was the vaccum hose it had a slit in it... funny thing is that tonite my sister borrowed my jetta (sadly) and it stalled out on her and i had a bad feeling that sumthin was gonna happen... that was it cuz when she called the bad feeling went away... now my problem is y did the car stall out... it was a huge downpour and there is alot of water around.. maybe the ignition cables got wet? or maybe there is a short somewhere?

loose fuel line? if you had a cai and it was raining that could be it, or a big puddle

My guess would have been the same, maybe the one heading to the top of the throttle body?
