I honestly hate unpainted CF... It takes the stealth look away. (attracts cops and criminals)... But that's my personal opinion. If you like it, who cares. Anyways, I don't know of any brands or retailers of the goods, but I'll do a little diggin for you later on.

haha could have expected a response from me after that. but it's true. I see a car like that on the road, i'm gonna check it out. people don't make these kind of cars w/o wanting to go fast. we call them radarbait.

i like the sleeper look way more. if you leave the carbon fibre, and drag against a stang or something else, and lose, you look like a tool. but if you make it a sleeper, and kill and car off the line, they are the ones who look like a tool.

I think carbon fiber looks terriffic, don't get me wrong. Personally I would paint it because I like the OEM look.

To Twig: And also, it's not about "flying under the radar" or trying to break laws without getting caught. It's the principal if the situation... Exactly as you said. Modified cars attract attention. A cop might see it and decide to pull you over to check for alchohol, drugs, etc. Perhaps hassle you about "illegal modifications". Wasting your time and maybe even getting a fix it ticket. I also think police are less likely to cut you breaks in the event of a moving violation. In the past I got pulled over for doing 80 in a 65 zone and the cop wrote me up for 74 in a 65 reducing my fine by $279 and 4 less points. Had I been in a sports car or a modified compact, he probably would have given me the full brunt. Instead I was in my little Jetta... 4 cylinder econobox. ;)

I have also noticed mods attract criminals. People wanting to steal stuff out of your car. Modified cars tell criminals that there is probably a nice stereo system, gauges, CDs or even cash in the car. There are also people out there that will vandalize your car for no reason.

There are a bunch of companies, I have a fiber images hood on my jetta, it has a really nice uniform weave, I had a vis on my old jetta, it was cheaper, but the quality showed the price. You could also check out dtm karbon. I know there are others, I will try and think of a few.
