Overheating

Hey all ot a question 4 ya my 87 td diesel is starting to overheat when i leave it idle for 20 minutes, and from what i know i diesel shouldnt over heat when idleing if anything it will show cooler than when its running like in my nieghbours 89 chevy 6.2 diesel... anyways im thinking headgasket or air lock, but not 100% sure, anyone have any input that might help...

Mike,

Is there oil in the coolant, or was there ever? I'd go for a cooling system flush and new coolant... I'd go as far as a new radiator. That's not good! Overheating will destroy the head on that thing.
