I was over at one of the FWD Turbo Mopar boards and someone told me that you can convert a U.S. spec Carrado to AWD pretty easily.

How easily exactly?

I guess it all depends on the drivetrain you swap in. I have hardly heard of anyone doing doing this, so I don't imagine it's just a bolt in thing.

Well, this came up at one of the Turbo Mopar boards. Someone was asking what imports you'd consider modding and I brought up the Corrado. My only complaint was that it was FWD, but that wouldn't stop me from buying by any means. Anyhow, here's what he said:

thats an easy fix..... euro golf MKII synchro floorpan and awd setup drops right into the corrado. a local guy here in Rochester has two of those setups and quite a few other synchro vehicles including a twin turbo synchro VR6 corrado. he has a really nice golf synchro too.

I can't recall seeing any awd corrado's, I have seen rwd done, but when you are talking floor pans and entire drivetrains I think the phrase drop in doesn't really fit. :)

There was actually a company that had started to make bell housings to mount audi drivetrains to the vr6 motor, they had a few other swap parts as well. I can't remember who they were though. But it looks like quite the undertaking even if you had all the parts.
