Well folks lets get this brake forum going shall we?

I am about to start a Audi G60 dual piston caliper swap on my daily driver, 96 mk2, 2.0.

I'll be using some calipers from a 86ish Audi Turbo Quatro and rotors off a 90ish Corrado as they are 11", 4 lug and the correct offset.

I'll be rebuilding the calipers and painting them with a Ceramic Red paint.

Rotors = $28.99 ea

Caliper rebuild kits= $15.26

Caliper bolt kits = $9.92, need 2

Pads = still need to decide which set to use, suggestions?

I'll get some pics posted up of the process.

I should mention that this swap is doable on your mk2 as well with mk3 hub assemblies and a 22mm master cyl.

Pads, hmm. That really depends on what you want.

If you want good stopping power, quiet operation, and minimal dust then I would go with the Raybestos Quiet Stops. However, if you want a good high performance pad then I really like the Axxis Ultimates and the Hawks. Both are great street performance rotors. However, they can be loud and I hope you have black wheels or like to clean them every week. :-D

But they do stop very well.

Well I'm running EBC Red Stuff right now and I really like them if not for the dust.
funny thing is one side dusts more than the other.. Strange for sure.

Looking @ the same pads again or the Hawk pads I think.

If I could get the same pads as I have on my wifes Durango I would be in Heaven, cant remember the name at the moment but they stop great and almost no dust, ceramic.

I know that the Red Stuff pads are good, but Green Stuff are crap. I really do like my Hawk pads but people say they tend to chew up rotors faster. Mine aren't grooved yet. How about your Red Stuff, have they done that?

Yeah, the Raybestos pads are great OEM replacement but would be a downgrade from your Red Stuff, performance wise.

My rotors look new still, I think I have about 4500 miles on them so far.
I drive in heavy traffic allot as well so 75mph to 0 in a heart beat happens allot.

I dont want to loose any breaking power the whole idea here is better brakes, no reason to change if I dont get an improvment.
