So yeah I'm about to start work on this extra obd1 8v head....port and polish, 16v heavy duty valve springs.. Stock retainers lifters etc....autotech 270 hydro cam light weight cam pulley and a dry nitrous kit. Which should do me for a good extra 60 or more hp I'm just being a little reasonable with the dailey driver ya know? Any ideas or anything? Comments? Something?

Nos? Come on man... That stuff is no good. The pistons in our engines are cast aluminum... Even moderate nos could cause a catostrophic failure. The only way you are going to get any decent numbers out of a daily driven 2.0L 8V (vw's economy engine) is to add a turbo and the proper fueling or sell your car and find a nice mark III VR6. The VR puts down 172hp and 173ft lbs and can be a VERY reliable daily driver.

Awe come one dude. A 50 shot of nitrous qwouldnt hurt the engine and it's not a wet kit just a dry one. It's not that serious to detonate cause I'm running it on my 85 jetta 1.8 digi.Seriously mr diesel I have a good good friend of mine who had a scirroco 3 or 4 years ago that was running nitrous with carbs running 12s. Right now he has a fully built 1.8t 5000 dollar tranny 100 shot of nitrous cams garret ceramic ball bearing turbo. The dudes a beast. he's the one who will be assisting me in that area seriously the dude got kicked outta the 1.8t shootout cause everyone said it wasn't fair hahaha if you ask me sounds like someone is scared

Heck, If you've got a veteran tuner helping you... go for it man! Just be careful and dont' over do it ;). Just remember though, a stock VR6 will probably put out just about the same power as your cammed/chipped/NOS'ed 2.0L. but if that's not an option hopped up 4 cyls are damn fun. That's what I sport.

Hah I feel you on the vr6 but I want something different ya know? I want to eventually someday try to squeez as much as I can from this little engine to make myself happy not anyone else. And plus do you know the look that people would have on their faces =priceless

You know, if you can find an old turbo diesel jetta you can use the turbo equipment off that... It's a direct bolt on. You coudl even run like 6psi to keep it on the moderate side. 6psi on a aba engine could be like 140whp. All motor is sweet though... I want to build an all motor 1.8L 16V that can rev to 9k.

You know what's even better taking the ring and pinion out of an old eco diesel you wanna talk about some torque hah it onlt tops out at avout 100mph and you'll only be able to use 1st through 4th but the torque would punish some cars . What turbo diesel jetta are you talking about the newer 1.9? P.S. Thereas a guy that lives around here his name is Art Lebraun not sure if you've heard of him but he works for bentley publisher and the guy is sick...he stuck a 1.9 in a caddilac 32v northstar. You can't get anybetter than that. A sweet caddy with some good gas mileage
