I am located in Brampton, just outside Toronto, and I have a 92 Jetta Turbo Diesel with 460,000kms for sale. Company car so I dont need it anymore.

Will need a waterpump, negative ground cable, rear drums and an emergency cable for sure.

Found the car on a farm in 2004 and the body shows it. In 05 I have the block redone, new pistons, rings, bearings and cam put in. That was at 424,000 and $1800 ago, so only 36,000 on that motor now.

Winter tires included. New heater core installed last winter.

Been sitting for a few weeks tho.....

First $500 takes it...

Im all ears....

Thanks

Dammit! I would buy this today if you weren't 1000+ miles away. Anyway... welcome to Dubnet and good luck with your sale.

I'm a little annoyed that Canada got the diesel options in Mark II and Mark III cars.... but what do you do? Give it a couple days and somebody will buy that.

and the big bonus is that its a German built Jetta not a Mexican one...

Is your Jetta still for sale? If so, could you forward pics and details to me? Would you be willing to work with me in getting this imported to US? I'm from Cleveland, Ohio (about 5-6 hour drive)...do you feel it would be able to be driven back if I met you at Toronto airport? Please let me know.

Thanks!

Mike

There really shouldn't be any importing restrictions when coming from canada... The Mark II Jetta turbo diesel was already federalized in 1986... The easiest thing to do would probably have the owner drive it across the border for you... I'm sure for a fee this gentleman would be willing to help with that. ;)

Unfortunately, it wont make that trip without a freeflowing 50 gal drum of coolant. Waterpump has a significant leak and would be empty every 30 miles... not my idea of a fun trip.

i am considering this. i have an 86 diesel (non turbo) coupe and i love diesels.
i live in st. catharines, so not a far drive for me. what's the body look like? do you have pics?

The body is so so..... It could be cleaned up and cold use some work. I did find it after sitting for 2 years in the country remember ? In all honesty, it would easily make the drive to St Catherines. You would just have to bring a ton of coolant. You would be better off towing it back, the tow bar hitch would probably be cheaper than the coolant. The reality is that if I didnt get a company car I would have replaced the water pump and drove this for a ton more km's. Ill send some pics this afternoon

You don't have to use coolant... you can use water just so long as you don't let the engine get cold ( in freezing temperatures ).

My hell... tell me about it. I mean, I understand the TD was a popular option north of the border, so it's understandable that there are going to be a lot of them in Canada. They sent it here for 1 year in the Jetta (in limited numbers) just to torture us. We got millions of NA engines, but the cool stuff is always reserved for the countries outside the United States borders.:(

Oh yeah? What kind of winter beater did you get? You usually only get a winter beater when you have something really kick ass to keep out of the winter weather... so what's that too?:)
