My wife just got a new body jetta and i am about to put a system in it for her. I looked under the hood and realized there is no room . I 'm concerned in finding a place to run the power wire through the fire wall. Any help will be much appreciated. also, is there enough room to leave a line out converter behind the factory head unit in the dash?

Last Question!!!
Jetta has a LOT of air bags. Is it ok to remove the pillar pieces from the car? (the 1 by the windshield and where the front seat seatbelts bolt)

all i know for now is you should disconnect the batter before working around the airbags, and let the system discharge.

Don't mess with the airbags. Covers, airbags or anything. You especially don't want anything anywhere in front or beside the airbag. An airbag will fully deploy in a matter of milliseconds. Even a wire could cause serious damage to the driver or passenger if an airbag went off... The wire would become a missile. People have died from flying debris from airbag deployment... like gauges, fire extinguisher, etc, etc. There should be an unused grommet somewhere on the firewall on the driver side. I don't know for sure, but all vws before the Mark 5 have had at least one unused grommet or a grommet big enough to get another wire through. Go in through there and under the carpet or along side the car next to the seats. You could even go under the carpet, but DON'T under any circumstances go near the airbag with it. If I recall there are 10 airbags in the Mark 5 Rabbit/Jetta.
