What do I need to know about this car (service / reliability / etc )

my factory warranty expires in 3k miles. What should I have checked out?
Car seems to drive very well. I can tell that the torque steer will be a PITA. I plan to use this as my daily driver - so I am not too interested in modding it.

It boost to about 15psi and I have seen it spike to apprx 17psi. Is this normal / factory ? Looks like it has a CAI upgrade in it.

Are there any good links that area available where I can brush up on my Jetta knowledge base ?

Thanks all !

Have them check out all of your sensors, first off (MAF, Thermostat, etc.)

Secondly, as far as what I can see from the engine bay picture, theres a Neuspeed Quickflo Intake w/ corresponding heat shield and (this could be the angle of the picture and reflection off the metal...) but that big silver thing mounted just in front of the engine cover could be an aftermarket Intake Manifold. Check on the top of it and look for the letter ABD on the top of it. According to the manufacturers, those two things combined should give you a 35-40 hp boost and 30+ lb/ft tq...MSRP for both = $700+

Looks like the stock intake manifold to me. I looked at an identical jetta (color, wheels, pinstripe, interior) here in pa before I bought my jetta. I didn't buy it though because they were asking more than what a brand new base model jetta would have cost. If you are hitting 17psi the car is likely chipped. Stock is like 8-10 I believe. You should try to contact the previous owner and see what all has been done. My friend recently bought a wrx that he assumed was nearly stock until he found some digital dash thing under the back seat, he found the previous owner somehow (bought at a dealership) and found the car has an aftermarket gear set and axles in it which is awesome. :)

looks nice, so clean. you should maybe go to the nearest vw dealership in your area before your factory warranty runs out. that would probably be what i might do if i had warranty, and was soon to run out. i havent had great luck with some of the more complicated problems i've had w/ cars unless i had it done by a vw technichian or a bmw technichan where i work. if you take care of this car and treat it well it will last you a long time.
great for a daily driver good choice
