i was thinking of doing a greasel kit on my car this summer, cuz i'm finally getting money. for those that don't know, this is a conversion kit that will allow your car to run on, no lie, used vegetable oil. so, i could just go to McD's and take some oil, and save a bundle on diesel.

i just was wondering if anyone has done this, or if there are any not so nice side effects.

i heard that it was actually all around better b/c it lubricated your engine, and it got rid of the oil that would have been dumped, and it isn't bad for the environment.

so, what does everybody think?

I worked at mcdonalds. Do NOT use their oil. It's a syntheticly created "vegetable" oil, and will blow up your car. If you have in and out burger, or carls jr in your area, then use their oil, they use real oil, and don't dispose of burger fat in their oil.... Only oil from the fryers.

This looks like a good forum for your conversions. It has a VW greaser expert http://www.greasecar.com/forum_topicview.cfm?frmtopicID=593
