good luck if you want to lower it reliably.

Cup kits start at 400+ generally. You could always just buy springs, but your shocks will blow in a very short amount of time.

I would look for a used weitech 60/40 or fk 60/40, probably still will be $300 or better, but just wait until you have another $100, or you will probably regret it.

Agreed. Although I saw a used h&r cup kit for sale for 350 on the vortex, now that's a steal.

Heres the problem, theres no point in dropping it 1.5 inches. Your gonna need to cut the control arm mounting and re-weld it up 1.5 inches and your gonna have to put in spacers into the tie rod end and when it comes down to it, its gonna be thousands of dollars and it wont be any better. My 92 jetta gl is dropped 4 inches, it has the full bilstein coilovers but i keep them at a normal level so that it isnt super soft. If you dont do this whole method than you will notice unusual wear on your tires because the alignment will be way out of whack and the car will drift in wierd directions. My car is so low, i can just barely fit a moto razr under the front bumper, and it comes with a price.

I agree... I dropped my 94 jetta 3.5 inches in the front... allthough I did a lot of tweaking to get the alignment and camber right, there is only so much you can do without serious modification and fabrication. My jetta drives straight but the tires wear funny even though the tires are apparently "perfectly aligned". I don't know what you are talking about with spacers on the tie rods... I dont' think that is necessary...

I'm pretty low on Patec coilovers, and I don't have any tire wear problems? I have about a normal cell phone's clearance off the ground, standing up, so like 3 inches?
